Dear Patriots,
It’s finally starting to cool down, and soon our chapters and department will be getting back to full speed after the “dark” summer months. With the fall holidays approaching, we have several opportunities to support veterans and their families. I encourage everyone to get involved in upcoming events and outreach efforts—our presence makes a real difference for Veterans in Arizona.
On August 7th, we celebrated Purple Heart Day, and I had the honor of recognizing Tucson-area Heroes from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam for their incredible sacrifices. I heard amazing stories of courage and resilience. One Hero returned an enemy grenade, saving his squad while losing his eyesight and hearing. Their stories—and the smiles on their faces and their families’ faces as we honored them—made it a truly special day.
Each of us has a story behind our medal. A story of pride and courage. Sacrifice and Merit. Those of us who were wounded and those who were killed in action. This is what connects us all as Purple Heart Patriots.
Save the Date! Tucson Chapter 442 will host the 2026 Department of Arizona Convention May 2, 2026. More info to follow.
