About the Award

The Military Order of the Purple Heart Leadership Award was created to recognize cadets who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills while maintaining strong academic performance. The award is an opportunity to encourage and inspire young leaders as they prepare for military or public service careers.

Each recipient receives:

  • A Military Order of the Purple Heart Leadership Medal

  • A purple ribbon designed to be worn on the cadet's uniform

  • An official certificate of recognition

The award has been officially approved for wear by all service branches and stands alongside other prestigious ROTC and JROTC honors.

Award Criteria

Candidates for the Leadership Award are evaluated based on:

  • Leadership ability and potential

  • Academic achievement and commitment to education

  • Dedication to service and community

  • Personal integrity and character

Nominations are typically made by ROTC and JROTC program instructors in coordination with school leadership.

The Impact

The MOPHAZ ROTC and JROTC Leadership Awards are more than just medals; they represent a bond between today’s military veterans and tomorrow’s leaders. By recognizing these cadets, we encourage the next generation to carry forward the principles of patriotism, duty, and honor that define the legacy of the Purple Heart.

Through these awards, MOPHAZ continues its mission to serve veterans, inspire youth, and strengthen the community.
