At the heart of Arizona’s capital stands a tribute to those who have shed blood in defense of our nation: the Combat Wounded Veterans Memorial at Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza in Phoenix. This sacred monument honors all recipients of the Purple Heart and stands as a lasting symbol of courage, sacrifice, and service.
Monument Dedication
On June 12, 1999, the Purple Heart Monument was officially dedicated in a joint ceremony hosted by the Arizona Veterans Service Commission and the Department of Arizona Military Order of the Purple Heart. The event marked a significant moment in Arizona’s commitment to honoring combat-wounded veterans from all branches of service.
Visiting the Purple Heart Monument

The Purple Heart Monument is located in the Southeast quadrant of Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza, which is situated at: 📍 1700 W Washington St, Phoenix, AZ 85007 The monument is listed as No. 26 on the official plaza map. Visitors are welcome to walk the grounds, reflect, and pay their respects to those who paid the price of freedom.
Leave a Lasting Legacy - Order a Commemorative Brick

As part of the monument’s ongoing tribute, you can honor a Purple Heart recipient by ordering a personalized commemorative brick.
These bricks are placed around the monument and serve as a permanent reminder of the individual sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes.
Each 4" x 8" brick allows up to three lines of engraving with 15 characters per line.

$35 for MOPH members
$40 for non-members
Bricks can be dedicated to yourself, a family member, a friend, or any Purple Heart recipient you wish to recognize.
